Improving health of Skin and Hair

I am often asked, "What can I do to improve the health of my hair?" My first answer has nothing to do with hair product. What you put into your body affects your overall physical health and appearance. These are my healthy skin and hair essentials:

1)Water
2)Multi Vitamin
3) Water
4) Omega 3
5) Water
6) Vitamin D
7) Diet

Why is water so important?
We can survive 7-10 days without food, but only 3 days without water. Drinking water won't hydrate your skin or make your hair less frizzy. Your skin/hair type (dry, normal, oily) is mainly determined by your genes. So why do I stress such an essential thing for your physical health? When I am hydrated my skin seems to stay more clear. In today's day and age we seem to drink so much sugary drinks. I challenge everyone to start replacing those with good old H2O!

Multi Vitamins
It is hard to get all the necessary vitamins and minerals we need. Here is a list of how different vitamins can help hair growth. Whenever I am trying to get my hair to grow faster, I like to take a multivatimin, as well as Nioxin tablets. I have heard other people getting success by supplementing biotin.

Vitamin D
I take three drops of Vitamin D every morning. Research about this has grown a lot about this vitamin. Vitamin D promotes healthy bones, by aiding with calcium absorbtion. They are also finding it benefits with lowering blood pressure, heart related diseases, and diabetes. I started taking this when my uncle Kory Branham, who practices chiropracty, found me to be deficient. It could be in my head, but I find this puts me in a better mood. This, along with Omega 3, helps reduce my stress levels.

Omega 3
Omega 3 has so many health benefits. It benefits cardiovascular health, decreasing depression, increaseing brain function, and can help prevent some cancers. It can also be helpful with balancing and strengthening out your skin and hair. Here are some benefits of fish oils for hair. Fish oils can help reduce acne and breakouts, and can help fight aging.(livestrong.com)

Diet
What you eat promotes healthy skin and hair. I am not a specialist in nutrition, but I do know the benefits to a balanced diet. Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats and Sugars are all essential to our diet.(Balance for Diet) My rule of thumb is to try and get nutrient rich foods, and to eat things in moderation.

It can be hard to make lifestyle changes. Habits are hard to form. Start with one thing, and overtime, you will start seeing the benefits like I do!
